Re: Buying forum hosting services

Try the member's area, I don't think there are many members who reads the public section of this forum.. . I usually read them when I am waiting for a reply. :P

Re: Buying forum hosting services

Why not just buy this script and start new? It's actually pretty fun and educational. :)

Re: I will buy if...

If it requires to edit the templates, I don't think i'm going to install it. Going to be too much trouble when it's time to upgrade again. Who knows how many templates we going to have over time. Either way, this is a great script. I would buy this if the portal mod worked or not.

Re: I will buy if...

(wow i feel like such a noob, lol.. . anyway.. .)

I did not personally install it, but all the comments they asking to "Find" then "After Add" is there.

I am considering it though since it does not ask to change any template files.

Re: I will buy if...

Wouldn't you have to edit every single template you download in order for this mod to work? (something I prefer not to do)

I downloaded the gzip, but failed to find the install instructions. Is there a new way of installing mods in phpBB3?

I had not modded phpBB since 2.0.6, I feel so outdated. lol

Re: implementing the script...

I actually like HS the way it is. The more features a script has, the more bugs and problems we will come across in the future. Plus upgrading phpbb would be a hassle when there too many changes. Ever heard of the KISS rule? " K eep I t S imple, S tupid" (no, really its an old saying lol)

Re: My host supports dedicated IP, but does NOT support Wildcard

just to be clear, my master domain is: abc.com and this is where the dedicated IP is pointed to, but the domain I want to use for the forum script is xyz.com (the add-on domain of the master account) If you goto http://1.2.3.4.5/ it will bring you to abc.com Would I still be able to use this script ...
