I will buy if...

Post by nothing4me »

Okay. I heard when you install a mod, it installs it to all the forums. That's a good thing for me.

But, this script at http://www.phpbb3portal.com/
If anyone can get that running on phpbbhs, I will buy this product.

Reply soon! :)

Sorry, I won't even look there. I provide support only for my script, not for any third party mods you might want to install on it. If you get stuck while installing some third party mod I can give you tips on what to do, but I will not install mod for you and will not debug it as that mod is not part of my script.

What you are asking for goes way beyond level of support that I provide.

But I need to know if it will work...
If you can't do it, do you have a money back guarantee?

Wouldn't you have to edit every single template you download in order for this mod to work? (something I prefer not to do)

I downloaded the gzip, but failed to find the install instructions. Is there a new way of installing mods in phpBB3?

I had not modded phpBB since 2.0.6, I feel so outdated. lol

(wow i feel like such a noob, lol.. . anyway.. .)

I did not personally install it, but all the comments they asking to "Find" then "After Add" is there.

I am considering it though since it does not ask to change any template files.

Actually, it does. Download this and put it in the same directory as modx.prosilver.en.xsl
Download: http://www.filedropper.com/prosilver
Open it up in your browser.

Then you run install_portal.php on your server for the SQL queries.
(I have created my own, script free, queries since this script runs on a new DB instead. [So, you just copy my script into the phpbb install_queries.php] I will supply this code later, if needed.)

If it requires to edit the templates, I don't think i'm going to install it. Going to be too much trouble when it's time to upgrade again. Who knows how many templates we going to have over time. Either way, this is a great script. I would buy this if the portal mod worked or not.

No, because that mod has nothing to do with a script, so if you fail to install it then that's your problem.

In theory almost every mod can be installed on phpBBHS, just like on normal phpBB, though some mods might require changes in its code. Portals are ones of the most complex mods, so you might need to know php and phpBB very well to be able to install it.

Normally there is an sql file for all forums database, try to get the sql tables of this mod (Maybe you can view install_portal.php or request from support)edit that sql file and that's all ;)
